Thank you to all who contributed to the ministry through the 2018 Giving Challenge!  The Community Foundation of Sarasota hosted this annual giving event and The Patterson Foundation generously MATCHED all contributions up to $100!  With your generosity we are able to act as Jesus’ hands and feet in helping women recover from their life issues.

God is so so good! Our local Keller Williams blessed us in a HUGE way this month! During their Red Day event, the group descended on the BFA home with about 100 volunteers and made some unbelievable changes. The love and effort from these people was truly amazing.

Take a look at this crazy list of things they did, all in one day..
– New shell for driveway
– Extended parking on driveway
– Painted the entire house exterior
– Sod in the entire back yard
– Compost in back yard
– Extended back porch by installing pavers
– Sod in much of the front yard
– New flower garden in front of the house
– Built raised vegetable gardens
– Built fire pit
– Cleared spot and built chicken coop
– Cleared all overgrown hedges and canopy
– Installed gate in fence
– New carpet in the three bedrooms
– Installed ceiling fans in the three bedrooms
– Arranged all kitchen cabinets
– New 55″ TV
– New gas BBQ grill

This team arrived on the house at 7:30am and knocked it out! They were well organized and each and every one of them was working out of love. It was an awesome experience seeing God work through Keller Williams and these individuals to help our ladies! This was truly God doing immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine – Eph 3:20.

Thank you Lord and thank you Keller Williams for allowing Him to use you to bless us!

Church Rummage Sale

February Rummage Sale

We had a successful and fun rummage sale in February!
Okay, we could have lived without the rain in the afternoon but it was still a great day. Thank you very much to the pastors at Resonate Life Church for allowing us to use the parking lot - excellent location! Our volunteers were fantastic and weathered the rain storm in the afternoon!

Building a Fence

The Fence is Up!

The fence is up at the Beauty for Ashes home!
Thanks to Doug, Jed, and Craig from Church of Hope for volunteering their time and applying their skills. They made it look easy and put a privacy fence up in only a few hours!

Hope Against Heroin

Thank you to Pastor Raul and West Bradenton Baptist Church for hosting this event.  They are committed to raise awareness of the drug problem we have in our community.  They sponsored a 5K run, lots of activities for the kids, a car wash and Farmer's Pantry.  Beauty for Ashes was blessed to participate along with other local ministries - all trying to provide help in the community.

Bradenton Herald Interview with BFA Girls

The Bradenton Herald drawing attention to he heroin epidemic in Manatee/Sarasota counties – Front page of Sunday edition, interviewed Krystal and Denise regarding their experiences. Hannah Morse did a great job on the article. Unfortunately the front page and full 2nd page of the newspaper didn’t mention the girls’ belief that their recovery fully depends on Jesus Christ but that said, I’ll hand it to them for Hannah’s focus on the epidemic in this area.
